The Marian’s Lacrosse team has been on fire as of recently.  With a record of 5-2 the Knights have cruised past formidable opponents in the early season, besting matches with Anderson, Georgetown, Thomas More, Midland and Wittenberg.

In their most recent game last Wednesday, the Knights had a fourth quarter scoring party with a seven-goal quarter to seal the deal vs Wittenberg.  The MU Lacrosse twins of Katelynn and Ashlynn Gray and Ella Grace Giedd led the Knights in scoring with three goals a piece.

Defender Mallory Miranda said  they were up the whole game, but it felt like the sloppily field did impact them in the first half. However, they managed to pick it up in the second where they started to connect better and started scoring more with a nine-goal half.

“Overall, it was a good game,” Miranda said. “We need to come out strong especially as we are starting to head into conference games.”

Nonetheless, Miranda is confident for the rest of the season.

“I think from what I’ve seen from the fall to now, that our connections and mentality are at an all-time high” she said. “ I think we will head to the national tournament.”

The Knights play at Madonna University in their next game on Saturday March 18 at 10 a.m..  The next home game is on March 29 vs Aquinas College.
