I AM

Roots piercing deep through the dirt as the ocean has no floor

Meditate to elevate in the never ending race

 like the always growing evergreens

Absorbing the sun as it is the food giv’in nutrients to my soul

Leaves glistening under the moonlight,

still shining through its darkness

As my blood will multiply for we will unify

Soon our voices will be one to recognize

Passion sets as the rain comes shooting down

Intended to dampen me, loosen my stance, and make me fall

But I am a black women

And I am still standing tall with it letting your storms make me feel small.
