Daniel Anthony Felicetti, age 81, of Annapolis, Maryland passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2024. Dr. Felicetti served as the sixth president of Marian College from 1989-1999.
Felicetti was born on April 25, 1942, in New York City to Ernest and Rose Felicetti. He acquired his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Hunter College in 1963. In 1966, he graduated with a Master of Arts in Political Science from New York University and a Doctor of Philosophy in Political Science at the same institution in 1971.
Felicetti started his career at Fairfield University in Connecticut as an assistant and associate professor from 1967-1977 and served as the Department of Politics chair from 1973-1976. In 1977, he served as the special assistant to the president. From 1977 to 1980, he served as the academic vice president and the academic dean at Wheeling College in West Virginia. He then became the senior vice president for academic affairs at College New Rochelle, New York from 1980-1981. From 1982-1984, he was the senior vice president for academic affairs at Southeastern University in Washington.
Before joining Marian, Felicetti served as the vice president of academic affairs at the University of Detroit from 1984-1989. Then, Felicetti came to Marian College in Indianapolis and was appointed sixth president on June 1, 1989.
Felicetti also participated in the American Council on Education (ACE) in Washington from 1976-1977 and became a visiting associate from 1984-1985. Felicetti has been listed as a noteworthy Academic administrator and educator by Marquis Who’s Who, an American publisher of several directories containing short biographies.
Felicetti married Barbara D’Antonio on July 13, 1969.
