This episode is all about finding those beginning opportunities to work in sports. You’ll hear from two women that are actively pursuing their sports careers in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Alyssa Ramirez is a current senior at IUPUI studying Sports Management and interning as a Volunteer Operations Intern with Indiana Sports Corp. She’s had experience working with so many sports organizations in Indianapolis including the Indianapolis Colts.
Rachel Lohman is an alum of that same program from IUPUI. After being affected by the pandemic, she chose to go to graduate school after graduating last May. She is a current Graduate Assistant at IUPUI and is studying Sports Event Tourism. She also has had experience with a number of organizations in Indianapolis, including the Indiana Pacers and Indiana Sports Corp.

This podcast starts what will become a yearlong project. I’m Linny Rousseau and I will be your host of We Belong – A Podcast for Women in Sports. This is going to give listeners an inside look at what it means to be a woman in sports. We will talk to a variety of women working in the industry as well as female athletes on Marian University’s campus. Women deserve the chance to be heard in the sports world, so this is going to give them an opportunity to do just that.
Kicking things off for our first episode of “We Belong,” I interviewed Grace Schumacher, current sports management graduate student at IU Bloomington and former intern for the Indianapolis Colts, Indiana Pacers, and the Indianapolis Indians. She will tell us about her tips and tricks for finding success in the sports world.
I will then talk to Siera Stuart, senior member of the Marian University Women’s Soccer Team. You’ll hear from her about what it’s like being on one of the most successful teams on this campus.
