We are the revival of Marian’s previous student newspaper The Phoenix. The original publication spanned from 1938-1981 and at one point became The Knight Times. Much like the decline of the newspaper industry, Marian for a while had a great decrease in student-led journalism and publications that could have displayed the pivotal aspects, stories, and histories of the university. The Phoenix was dead for many years.

Then, in January of 2018, a small band of students bound by journalistic integrity and creative curiosity came together to form the current, online newspaper that we have today. MU Knightwatch is a course you can take for credit, a place to learn about accurate school news and events, and a platform to voice and share infinite creative works. We are looking to evolve, yet stay true to the mission and legacy of The Phoenix.
